Potable Water Analysis

Drinking water analysis is included in the health legislation under the Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption. The Ministry of Health does not delegate authority to private institutions under this regulation.

Samples are taken and analyzed for drinking and potable water analysis from water dispensers, tanks established for water storage, wells used for water supply, water obtained by tanker, over-the-counter treatment systems, tap or mains water; in summary, from the points determined in water storage, transportation and transfer vehicles.

Drinking and potable water analysis in working environments is primarily carried out for control purposes to protect the health of employees. Drinking and potable water analysis may be requested within the scope of occupational health and safety, by the workplace physician and occupational safety specialist or for domestic and foreign customer inspection.

As drinking water analysis, the analysis of the indicator parameters in Annex-1, subparagraph c of the Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption can be analyzed. Some of the indicator parameters in the table are as follows: aluminum, ammonium, chloride, C. perfringens (including spores), color, conductivity, pH, iron, manganese, odor, oxidizability, sulfate, taste, colony count at 22 °C, coliform bacteria, turbidity. Additions and subtractions can be made in the specified parameters.

The reports of the laboratories authorized by the Ministry of Health for drinking water analysis are valid in official transactions.

AEM Laboratory is an organization accredited by Türkak for drinking water analysis with its expert staff, technical facilities and quality service. It analyzes for control purposes. It also provides sampling and delivery services to the Ministry of Health laboratories.
