Soil Analysis

Soil analysis is carried out within the scope of the Regulation on Control of Soil Pollution and Point Source Contaminated Sites, Regulation on the Use of Domestic and Urban Sewage Sludge in Soil in environmental legislation.

A certificate of competence is required for contaminated site assessment and cleanup works within the scope of the Regulation on Control of Soil Pollution and Point Source Contaminated Sites. Consultancy firms authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization carry out studies to detect pollution. Then, by analyzing the soil samples taken with the authorized environmental laboratories of the Ministry, it determines the final state of soil pollution and creates its own report.

During field works; instant measurements, drilling operations, sampling and homogenization operations are carried out. The samples taken are analyzed in the laboratory in accordance with the soil analysis parameters specified in Annex-2 of the Regulation on Soil Pollution Control and Point Source Contaminated Sites.

Within the scope of the Regulation on the Use of Domestic and Urban Sewage Sludge in Soil, samples are taken from the soil where the sewage sludge is planned to be used and soil analysis is performed. For the soil analysis certificate, the analysis results of the parameters in Annex-2A of the Regulation should be determined.

The reports of laboratories authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization are valid for soil analysis. Launched in 2019, the MELBES system collects soil analysis requests within the scope of the Regulation on the Use of Domestic and Urban Sewage Sludge in Soil. MELBES assigns the received requests to authorized laboratories. Soil analysis to be performed within the scope of the Regulation on EIA, Soil Pollution Control and Point Source Contaminated Sites is excluded from the scope of MELBES, AEM Laboratory can be contacted for these scopes.
