Vibration Measurement

Vibration measurements are required in environmental legislation within the scope of the Regulation on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise.

Environmental vibration measurements in mines, quarries, construction sites, residences and offices may be requested for permit, control and complaint purposes. Article 25 of the Regulation on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise mentions vibration measurements. Requests are made in line with this article.

The most important factor during environmental vibration measurement is that the device can record in x, y and z axes at the same time. In addition, the device fixing process is another issue to be considered.

The reports of laboratories authorized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization are valid for vibration measurement. Launched in 2019, the MELBES system collects vibration measurement (Article 25 (a)) requests to be made within the scope of environmental permit. MELBES assigns the received requests to authorized laboratories. Within the scope of EIA, vibration measurements of workshops or workplaces in case of complaints are excluded from the scope of MELBES.
