Waste Oil Analysis

Waste oil analysis is carried out within the scope of the Waste Oil Management Regulation. The Regulation defines the definition of waste oil broadly. In general, various oils from industrial machinery and vehicles fall under the definition of waste oil. Vegetable waste oils are not covered by this regulation, for them there is a Regulation on the Control of Vegetable Waste Oils.

Waste oils are analyzed by the refining plant before being accepted to the refining plant. As a result of the analysis, waste oils with PCB values up to 20 ppm and not exceeding 1% chlorine are processed by refining facilities. Waste oils with PCB value between 20-50 ppm and not exceeding 1% chlorine value are sent to co-incineration plant, waste oils with PCB value over 50 ppm or exceeding 1% chlorine value are sent to incineration plant. Waste oils that cannot be refined are processed in co-incineration and/or incineration plants. In refining facilities, waste oils are sampled in accordance with TS 900-1 EN ISO 3170 standard and analyzed using TS EN 12766-1, TS EN 12766-2 for PCB, TS ISO 15597 for chlorine or nationally/internationally accepted standard methods.
